Tree removal in Brampton is subject to the City of Brampton’s Tree Preservation By-law that provides clear guidelines on tree removal on private property.

Brampton Tree Removal By-laws

A permit from the City is not required to remove a tree that:

  • is ​located within 2 meters (6 feet 6 inches) of an occupied building, or
  • has a diameter of less than 30 centimetres (12 inches) when measured at 1.37 meters height from the ground.

Dead Trees removal in Brampton

Dead trees must be removed from your property. Owners may receive letters from the City and be given 60 days to remove the trees by a qualified arborist. Failure to comply may result in receiving an Order to Comply  with a specific, mandatory completion date.
